Description
This gift advocates for Equal Rights for Girls. Zahara is a passionate advocate for the education and inclusion of people with disabilities. One day she wants to open a school for people with disabilities. “Most people with disabilities in my country and in my community do not have training, and are without degrees, without jobs,” she says. Oxfam’s partner Say, an association of people with disabilities, has worked with Zahara to help her get started. “My dream is to create a large school [for] children with different disabilities” – Zahara Seybou Harouna. This example reflects the types of projects that could be funded when you donate through Unwrapped. Valuing Women’s Work. The story outlined in this gift is an example of the type of project your donation will help fund. All the money you donate when buying this gift will support projects in the Valuing Women’s Work category. Oxfam’s Valuing Women’s Work programmes support women to push for respect, fairness and dignity at work, and to end gender-based violence in the workplace. This means pressuring local and national government for lasting changes that will make things equal for women, as well as ending discrimination and harassment through law. Your donation supports Oxfam and our partners in making work fairer for women across the world, including unpaid care workers here in the UK. Thank you so much for your generous donation!
